Furas ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Furas mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the App's services:

  • Phone number — used to create and authenticate your account via SMS verification code. We do not store your phone number in plain text outside of your profile.
  • Job listings — content you post as an employer, including job title, description, pay rate, location, and contact phone number.
  • Saved jobs — if you save a job listing, we store a copy of that listing linked to your account so you can access it later.
  • Device location — requested optionally when you use the map view to find nearby jobs. Location is never stored on our servers.
  • Language preference — stored locally on your device to remember your English or Arabic setting.
  • Usage and analytics data — we collect anonymized data about how you interact with the App (e.g., which screens you visit, buttons you tap, searches you perform) to help us improve the service. This data does not include your name or phone number, and is not used to track you across third-party apps or websites.
  • Crash and error reports — if the App crashes or encounters an error, we collect technical information (device type, OS version, error details) to help us fix bugs. No personal data is included in these reports.
  • Report submissions — if you report a job listing, we store the reason you selected and any optional notes you provide, along with the job listing ID. Reports are submitted anonymously and are not linked to your account or phone number.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you securely via SMS one-time password (OTP)
  • To display your employer profile and job listings to job seekers
  • To save and retrieve your bookmarked job listings
  • To show nearby jobs on the map view (location is used in real time and never saved)
  • To allow other users to contact you directly via phone or WhatsApp if you post a job
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve the App's features and performance
  • To detect and fix crashes and technical errors

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Your data is shared only with the following service providers that help us operate the App:

  • Supabase — our backend database and authentication provider. Stores your profile data and job listings. See supabase.com/privacy.
  • Google Firebase — used for phone number authentication (SMS OTP), crash reporting (Crashlytics), and app usage analytics. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
  • Sentry — used for error and crash monitoring. Collects anonymized technical error data only. See sentry.io/privacy.
  • Mixpanel — used for product analytics. Collects anonymized event data (e.g., buttons tapped, screens viewed) to help us understand how the App is used. No name or phone number is sent to Mixpanel. See mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Other users — if you post a job as an employer, your business name, job details, and contact phone number are visible to anyone browsing the App.

4. Data Retention

  • Job listings remain active until the employer deletes them or their account is removed.
  • Your account and profile data are retained until you delete your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the App. Deletion permanently removes your profile, job listings, and saved jobs.
  • Anonymized analytics data may be retained by our third-party analytics providers per their own retention policies.
  • Job reports submitted through the App are retained for moderation and safety purposes until no longer needed.

5. Children's Privacy

Furas is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@furasapp.com.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and Supabase's Row Level Security (RLS) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time via the Account Settings screen in the App
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time
  • Contact us with any privacy questions or requests

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
